This series is about play. Although it continues to explore the poetry of simplicity, motion, balance, light, and form, it speaks to these things with a louder voice. My work tends to exist in the exploration of subtlety and loosening my control over the sculpture, but this series is bolder and appears more graphic.
I was challenged by using only one type of flower for these pieces, because I generally like to implement secondary greenery or smaller florals. A tulip occupies space with authority and excitement. The tulips in each photograph feel like characters involved in a moment of a larger story.
