Tessa Langdon is an artist based in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. With a strong background in design and a love for drawing, painting, sculpture and photography, she found a way to combine what she loves most about each medium into one. Stems, branches, petals, and leaves become the medium of sculpture that causes the viewer to pause and quiet their mind. Plants become abstracted to the beautiful simplicity of line and form through the medium of photography. This work began with an interest in the art of Japanese Ikebana, and was influenced by her time living in New York during the winter time. Her work resembles the way a single branch might stray outside of the snow covered ground. Tessa finds that there is a quiet poetry found in movement, light, balance, and form. Her work is done with high attention to detail and composition, emphasizing restraint through simplicity.
