This series of palm leaf photographs is a reflection on Psalms 96:12 and holds strong symbolism of the hope and victory in Christianity. This is most commonly seen through Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem before His crucifixion, where the people cut palm branches and placed them on the road before him along with their extra garments while shouting “Hosanna”, which means “save us”. This is a day that we recognize each year as Palm Sunday.

Completed in the jungle of Peru, I later found that this series clearly connects with the tradition in which many Peruvians participate. Traditionally, many people of religious practice will find a palm leaf and shape it into a cross in an act of remembering Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem and His sacrifice on the cross.
